A different kind of networking for Hartlepool with Tees Valley Business Compass

Updated: Jan 7, 2019

There are all kinds of networking events going on across the Tees Valley, but many of them follow the same-old tired format: suits in a room with a questionable sandwich selection and an inevitable power point presentation.

With this in mind, Tees Valley Business Compass has decided to do something a little bit different by partnering with NERF Wars Networking to do a series of Tees Valley events: Networking and NERF Wars.

Load your gun, take your aim, and prepare to shoot a potential future business partner, what more could you wish for from an evening of networking?

Taking place from 6pm – 9pm on Wednesday 28th November at Borough Hall, NERF WARS Hartlepool promises to be a networking event like no other building on the success of the Darlington one.

The Tees Valley Business Compass is hosting the event in partnership with public relations firm Harvey & Hugo and business solutions provider Advantex, and you’ll have a chance to find out more about the services they offer.

“NERF Wars Networking” have been running NERF Wars events successfully in Newcastle for over 2 years and this is the 2nd of 5 events taking place in the Tees Valley, building on the success of the

first held in Darlington which proved there is definitely a market for more relaxed, fun networking. So, it’s fair to say that we can’t wait for the next one!

Gemma Walton, marketing and events manager at Tees Valley Business Compass, explained:

“We decided to do something a little bit different for our events, and we think NERF WARS definitely does that.
“When you go to networking events on a regular basis they all tend to blend together in the mind, but after the success of the Darlington one we know this is one that our attendees won’t soon forget.
“We are again expecting the event to be well received, so I would urge all businesses and individual’s that are interested to sign up as soon as possible.”

When you sign up, you’ll be asked to answer some questions to make sure you connect with the right people.

After spending 20 minutes in a controlled networking session, making real connections with the right people and businesses, you'll spend 20 minutes creating a different type of relationship as you're split into teams to face off in the NERF WAR.

NerfWars Networking founder Pete Noble runs the events with Chloe Page alongside his permanent role at Gateshead-based IT support firm Advantex. Pete said: “For the last two decades Advantex have been helping firms across the North East with bespoke Network solutions covering things like Network Infrastructure, IP Surveillance, telephony and Managed IT Services.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Tees Valley Business Compass again as part of this innovative networking event and we are looking forward to meeting an exciting range of North East businesses.”

This is the second time Tees Valley Business Compass will be hosting this event, with further ones taking place in, Middlesbrough (February), Stockton (March), and Redcar (May).

Becca Robertson, from Darlington-headquartered PR agency Harvey & Hugo added:

“For anyone who knows Harvey & Hugo, you know that we like to do things a little bit differently; which is why when we heard about Networking and Nerf Wars, we just had to get involved!
“We’re positive this is going to be a great event and provide something different and unique to businesses not only in Hartlepool but the rest of Tees Valley.
“We’re excited to get our teeth stuck into this event and we can’t wait to network with a difference!”
